I had the privilege of working with Leilah at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, and separately taking part in her workshop myself, so I've seen her hold space both as a colleague and as a participant.
Leilah has a rare gift. She holds space so well that people feel able to be seen exactly as they are, without pretence or performance. I've witnessed this first-hand during an artist development programme I was commissioned to run at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre for young adults, where Leilah led a guest session on embodiment. The impact on the young people was immediate and clearly lasting. They valued it so much that they came to me asking for follow-up sessions with Leilah, even after the programme had officially ended.
In my own personal work with Leilah, I've experienced that same quality directly: the beauty of feeling truly seen in my authenticity, with no need to perform or shape myself into something else. It's a gift she brings into every room she works in, and one I'm genuinely honoured to have both witnessed and received.

“The journey and guidance that I experienced with Leilah was very profound. And I am not a beginner. I am myself am a Dancer and Embodiment practitioner. I also create these spaces, and in being so familiar with this I am also very demanding.
But I have to say that I was completely letting myself be guided by the energy that Leilah embodies. Her ability to create a safe space, to guide with beautiful cues, imagination and energy makes it very profound, soft and yet very moving. My spirit was definitely very alive.
